DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 302 begins in the City of Thor and proceeds northerly to a junction with Iowa 3 approximately two and one‑half miles north of the City of Thor.

The Functional Classification Review Board hearing of July 21, 1980 between the City of Thor (complainant) and the Iowa Department of Transportation (defendant) transferred that portion of Iowa 302 from Dean Street north to the north corporation line of the City of Thor to city jurisdiction effective September 15, 1980.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑302‑0 (5)‑‑2M‑46, between Humboldt County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 302 from the north corporation line of the City of Thor north to a junction with Iowa 3 near the NW Corner Section 4‑T91N-R27W to county jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 302 in Humboldt County from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 302 and its extension in Humboldt County as follows:

Thor:

Beginning on an unnamed street at Dean Street; thence northerly to the north corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Thor, connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 16, 9, and 4‑T91N‑R27W to a point near the NW Corner Section 4‑T91N-R27W (junction Iowa 3).

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 302 in Humboldt County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Iowa 302 begins in Thor, and travels northerly terminating at junction Iowa 3 approximately 2 ½ miles north of Thor, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 302 and its extensions in Humboldt County as follows:

Thor:

Beginning on an unnamed street at Dean Street; thence northerly to the north corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Thor, connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 16, 9, and 4‑T91N‑R27W to a point near the NW Corner Section 4‑T91N‑R27W (junction Iowa 3).

NOW, THEREFORE: be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 302 in Humboldt County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
